Summer Therapeutic Rappeling Excursion

Operation Embrace sponsored summer therapeutic excursions for Sderot families and teens who are suffering from trauma as a result of the fall of Kassam rockets that have fallen on their homes and on their neighborhoods.

On Aug. 24, 2009, (on one of the OE sponsored therapeutic excursions), there were teens who were apprehensive to try the sport of rappeling.  However, when Matan Cohen, a 17 year old leg amputee (from a Kassam rocket injury) decided that he would be the first to rappel down the mountain, all of the other teens followed.  This day was a phenomenal day of empowerment day for Matan as well as all of the teens.
