Geut Aragon, one of this year's honorees

Geut is married and a mother of two children, Itzik, age 9 and Nir, age 5. In January 2008, a Kassam rocket hit her home, tearing into the room where Geut, Nir and his friend, Liyor were playing.

Geut was injured in her legs and head. Despite her own injuries, Geut saved the life of Liyor, who was buried under the rubble.

Matan Cohen, an honoree at the dinner,
speaks in Hebrew, as MJBHA Academy
student, Aaron Zuckerman translates
in English for the attendees.

Matan, age 15, was seriously injured in December 2006 when a Kassam rocket landed next to him as he was running for shelter.

Matan was hospitalized for ten months, and despite every effort, the doctors were forced to amputate part of his foot. Matan’s recovery continues to include intense physical therapy.
